

Dean was born on January 28, 1952, in Greenville, Ohio to the late Gale Eugene and Irene Lucille (Kruckeberg) Baker.
Dean is survived by his brothers, Steven (Karen) Baker and Ronald (Shirley) Baker; his nephews and nieces, Craig (Maria) Baker, Goddaughter, Kendra (Rodney) Anthony, Julain (David) Jones, Lee (Melissa) Baker and Amy (Bryan Pflum) Rose as well as extended family members and friends.
When Dean was young, he was confirmed at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Greenville. Dean was a 1970 graduate of Arcanum High School. He began his work career as a television repairman with Hansbarger’s in Greenville and Weimer’s in New Madison, he finished his career working for WDTN, Channel 2, in Dayton as an engineer for 30 years. Dean was presented with an award for his technical work at WDTN. Dean enjoyed attending the Darke County Fair, racing at Eldora, Dayton Speedway and New Bremen Speedway. He was a “learner”; he loved searching the internet for facts and information.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, 1499 North Broadway with Pastor Tony officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the St. John’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Dean’s honor to the Cancer Association of Darke County, 1111 Sweitzer Street, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
