Jack J. Lane

Jack J. Lane, 91 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday February 20, 2026, in the EverHeart Hospice Unit at Wayne Healthcare. Jack was born on March 29, 1934, in Richmond, Indiana to his late parents, Edgar C. Lane and Dondena Spencer Lane. After high school, Jack served in the United State Marine Corp for four years. He started working at Corning Glass in 1957 and worked there until he retired.

Jack was an avid golfer, enjoying watching races at Eldora and Winchester Speedway with his brother Frank, son Mark and nephews Tom, Marty, and Travis. He was passionate about everything Christmas, from decorating to gift buying. Jack enjoyed vacationing in the mountains, golfing and visiting state parks. He loved spending time with his family, especially game nights where he was ruthless with games like Trivial Pursuit.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elsie, and daughter Linda; a sister Barbara; and brothers, Ira, Phillip, Bob, and Frank. He is survived by son, Mark and Kelly Lane, Daughter, Gina and Dan Wolfe, and grandson Ethan Lane and Nick Alcorn, numerous nieces and nephews, and family friend, Bill Alexander.

Services for Jack will be held on Saturday February 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of gifts and flowers, memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice or Wayne Healthcare Foundation.
