Jane McFarland passed away on April 27, 2026, at the age of 68 in Ventura, California. Born and raised in Greenville, Ohio, Jane lived a life defined by service to others, devotion to her family, and a joyful spirit that touched everyone who knew her.
Jane earned her EMT-A and Paramedic associate's degree from Hocking Technical College in 1982 and later received her Dental Assistant diploma from Kentucky Technical School in 1994. In 1981, the Board of Trustees of Southeast Ohio Emergency Medical Services honored her with a professional excellence award in recognition of her outstanding work as an EMT.
Throughout her career, Jane answered the call to help others in countless ways. As a young paramedic, she oversaw on-site emergency medical services for band camp at Camp Crescendo in Lebanon Junction, Kentucky. She later worked at the American Red Cross headquarters and in an ENT medical practice, both in Pasadena, California. For ten cherished years, Jane served as a loving aunt and devoted caregiver to two children—a role she embraced with all her heart. She also brought her warmth and dedication to customer service roles at Kids R Us, J.C. Penney, and Walmart, where she was admired for her strong work ethic and pleasant demeanor.
Jane found magic in life's simple pleasures. She was a devoted Disney fan and delighted in the wonder of hot air balloons and rainbows, joys that reflected her own bright and hopeful spirit.
Jane is survived by her four siblings: Dr. Greg McFarland of South Lebanon, Ohio; her twin sister, Regina McFarland of Ventura, California; Susan Lucanto of Staten Island, New York; and Mary Ann Drucker of McLean, Virginia. She is also survived by her loving nephews, niece, and three grand nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mildred McFarland, and by her half brothers, James Beasley and William Beasley.
Jane will be remembered for her compassionate heart, her steadfast dedication to caring for others, and the quiet joy she brought to every life she touched. May her memory be a comfort to us all.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday, May 7, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Greenville with Deacon Tom Graber officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.zecharbailey.com for the McFarland family.
