Joseph C Patty Jr, formerly of Greenville and Cincinnati, OH and more recently Clearwater, FL passed away after a short illness February 12, 2024 in Clearwater, FL. Joe was born April 14,1932, to Helen Louise and Joseph C. Patty in Greenville Ohio.
He graduated from Greenville High School in the Class of 1950, attended Culver Military Academy then was drafted into the US Army during the Korean Conflict where he rose to the rank of Corporal. While stationed at Camp Pickett Virginia, Joe earned the Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal then completed his service in the Army Reserve.
After leaving the Army, Joe moved to Dayton, OH and worked briefly for the Chrysler Corporation as an accountant. Then moved to Cincinnati to attend the University of Cincinnati earning a Bachelor in Education. He taught science and math to elementary students at Garfield Elementary School, a former Cincinnati Public School. After leaving teaching, Joe worked in real estate and on the ski patrol at Perfect North. Joe enjoyed tennis, fishing and golfing, traveling and walking the nearby beaches.
Joe is survived by his five children: Liz (Gene), Jenny, Chuck (Pam), Kathy (Mark) and Mike, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his former wife, the mother of his children, Ann H Patty (nee Hawley, Greenville, OH). While living in Cincinnati, Joe was active in the Covedale Athletic Association (CAA), Dan Beard Council Boy Scouts of America and Westwood First Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon. In retirement, Joe was actively involved with Springtime City Kiwanis in Clearwater FL.
Graveside services will be held at Greenville Union Cemetery on April 14th at 11:30am recognizing his 92nd birthday. Friends and family wishing to honor Joe are asked to donate to a charity of their choosing.
