Lydia Mae Hilbert, age 77 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at her home on Friday, April 5, 2024. Born in Greenville, Ohio she was a daughter to the late Clarence & Mildred (Sleppy) Beutler. Lydia had worked many years as a manager at the VFW, and was a member as well. She enjoyed baking, ceramics, crocheting and knitting. In her free time Lydia enjoyed traveling, and going to Annie Oakley Days. She had owned a C.B. Radio shop, a health food store, and had even been a Furrier, tanning and selling hides. More than anything she dedicated her life to taking care of her family; she was very active in raising her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and had also helped foster care for troubled children. She will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert Hilbert: siblings Carol VanDynes, Carl Beutler: step-brothers James and Charles Waggoner: special granddaughter Kesha Jett.
Survived by her daughter Kelly & Kenneth Wells: grandchildren Cassie & Steve Reyes; Tabernea & Phil Hoover; Leah Burton: great-grandchildren Carmen Griffin; Devin Reyes; Esteban Reyes; Eva Reyes; Narada Jones; Jashawn Jones; Zion Lucas; Jasiah Hoover; Dysion Ordway; Julianna Freeman; Manuel Hoover; Ximara Smith: siblings Richard Beutler; Clarence Beutler, Jr.; Denis Beutler; Velma Beutler; Lucille Shell; Rosemary Howell: as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on the family from 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM on Monday, April 15, 2024 at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Funeral service to be held at 11 AM with Pastor Todd Reish presiding. Burial to follow at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville, Ohio.
