

Mary Ann (Connolly) MacKenzie of Greenville, Ohio quietly passed away at 4:55 P.M. Tuesday October 9, 2012 at Wayne HealthCare. Mary Ann was born October 20, 1926 in Dayton, Ohio and would have been 86 on her next birthday. She was a graduate of Stivers High School in Dayton in 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Marie (Hemberger) Connolly, her brother John Connolly and sisters Jean McGovern and Kathleen Woodruff.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband Robert Donald MacKenzie; her children Patrick (Mary Ann) MacKenzie of Centerville, Diane MacKenzie, Michael MacKenzie, Susan (Mike) Shroyer and Kevin (Lori) MacKenzie all of Greenville; grandchildren Matthew (Sherry) Sharp, Monty Sharp (special friend Christena Subler), Molly (Sam) Price, MacKenzie (Jared) Gary, Nicki (Jared) Gillespie, Joe (Mey) MacKenzie, Katie (Curtis) Hill, Tony, Andrew and Abbey MacKenzie; step grandchildren Melissa Shroyer Godwin and Ashley (Duncan) Beatty; 11 great grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Mary Ann was our guardian angel here on earth, a loving mother, grandmother and spouse. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville, Ohio. She worked in the office for the Farhnam Equipment Company retiring in 1982. She enjoyed vacations, camping, needlepoint, the Christmas season, watching the family grow, annual summer trips to Sault Ste. Marie and winter trips to Florida. She loved playing cards and the bridge club. She had a full life with family and friends and left us to be with God in his graces.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday October 13, 2012 in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Greenville, Ohio with Father Robert Hadden officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with a Prayer Service scheduled for 3:30 P.M.
It is the wishes of the family, that in lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospitals and St. Judes.
