

Mary was born on October 20, 1929, in Madison County, Ohio, to the late Ray & Blanche (Harrison) Johnston. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion Dale Leach; son, William (Bill) Leach; in-laws, Scott & Francis (McGraw) Leach; brother, Harrison (Jane) Johnston; sisters, Mildred (Clark) Barker, and Betty (Wink) Morton; and sisters-in-law, Medrith (Jack) Foulk, Ruth (Howard) Dillion, and Mary Lou (Eldon) Davis.
Mary is survived by her children, Marion Dale (Cheryl) Leach J., Michael Leach, Deborah (Mike) Shively, and Donald (Becky) Leach; grandchildren, Chris (Sherri) Leach, David (Tina) Leach, Jason Leach, Erin (Leach) Shaffer, and Sabrina (Tom) Khidhathong, Andy (Nancy) Leach, Kevin (Christina) Shively, and Matt Shively; 19 wonderful great grandchildren and 2 precious great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was the mother to 5 children, 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Webster United Methodist Church since November of 1961, where she was known as the prayer warrior in church.
Her peace has finally come, and we shall always keep her in our hearts and in our mind and her favorite sayings, that’s ok and that’s not necessary.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 16, 2026, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Douglas Gardner officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Madison County, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Webster United Methodist Church in Mary’s memory.
