He was a music creator, videographer, photographer, writer, multimedia editor, actor, lego enthusiast, film critic, metalhead, mosh pit lover, bass player, gamer, Fallout 4 addict, amazing brother, son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.
His favorite band was Godflesh, he enjoyed personality typing (Enneagram and MBTI), he had a critical and strange sense of humor, and was an intellectual know-it-all.
He was loved by many and his talents never went unappreciated. The taking of his own life, by gunshot to the head, was heavily influenced by the words and opinions of other people. He always cared what others thought of him, yet often did not let them know. He was respectful and would do anything for his friends. He would always feed them, offer them a ride or a place to stay. His influence on everyone he knew (and he made sure they knew him!) will never be forgotten.
Drew is survived by his father, Peter Bern Waldschmidt; his mother, Linda Elizabeth Lindstrom Waldschmidt; his brother, Alexander George Waldschmidt; his sibling, Lane Waldschmidt; grandparents, Bruce and Janet Waldschmidt and Carl and Marsha Lindstrom; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, who all loved him dearly.
His family will receive friends Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 2:00 PM Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC, 29609. This will be a casual hang out to celebrate his life. Please bring hugs, chill vibes, and weirdness. We encourage you to wear something that would honor Drew's aesthetic.
