Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Blaine Matthews, Jr. and Tabatha Batson Matthews Knight.
Arnold was a loving Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend.
He was employed by Sauer - Danfoss and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Stephanie and Chad Hunter of Greenville; a son and daughter-in-law: Louie and Rhonda Harvey of Greenville; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Yvonne and Steve Szabo of Greenville, Elizabeth and Jeffrey Wood of Anderson, and Kimberly and Clayton Ivester; six grandchildren: Cailyn Hunter, Angel Harvey, Jamie Harvey, Amber Taylor, Chris Harvey, Austin Harvey, and numerous adopted children and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers: Ronald and Donald Matthews.
Funeral service will be Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 6 – 8 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
