

Audrey Isabelle Frady Rivenbark, 92, of Greer, SC (formerly of Burgaw and Charlotte, NC) died December 15, 2013 at National Health Care in Greer, SC. Mrs. Rivenbark was born in Greer, SC on November 2, 1921. She was the daughter of John Samuel and Ollie Elizabeth Frady. She was preceded in death by her three siblings, Freddie Mescal Lunny, Jack Hugh Frady, and Margaret (Peggy) June McCuen. She married George Meredith Rivenbark in 1942. They lived in many places during their early marriage since George was in the Army, including Kokura, Japan before settling in Burgaw, NC. They lived there for many years before making a home in Charlotte, NC to be closer to their son and family. She moved to Greer in 2012.
Mrs. Rivenbark was a registered nurse, having graduated from Spartanburg, SC School of Nursing in 1942. She worked as supervisor of Surgery in her early career in Spartanburg and then with family planning services in Burgaw NC later in her life. She also was an accomplished artist and had written several books on her family's genealogy. Those books can be found at the Pender County Historical Society Museum in Burgaw. She loved her family and was very talented in sewing, crafts, and making her famous "tee shirt" quilts. She also loved to fish, read, and work puzzles. Her life is best described as a life very well lived.
She was predeceased by her husband, George Meredith Rivenbark, and her children, son Jan Meredith Rivenbark, and daughter, Susan Kay Rivenbark.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Barbara Rivenbark, of Charlotte; grandchildren, Abby (Collin ) Brown of Montana, Justin Rivenbark of New Jersey, and Patrick (Rachel) Rivenbark of Charlotte, along with special nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The service will be on December 20, 2013 at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC at 1:00 pm. Memorials can be made to Pender County Historical Society Museum, Post Office Box 1380, Burgaw, NC 28425.
