My heartfelt love and sympathy is extended to all of Barbara's family.  I never had the privilege of knowing her personally, but I know well the parents who raised her and that is testimony to the sweet, selfless servant of God that she still is--only now her work here is done and she is experiencing unspeakable joys in the presence of her Savior, waiting until you can join her once again.  My husband, who lost his own battle with cancer six years ago, dearly loved the Wilds and Doc Hay who became a father figure to him.  I can identify with the bittersweet mixture of joy and grief of losing a loved one and yet having the peace that passes all understanding in the firm foundation of God's presence and provision as He comforts and guides you through the labrynth of loss. Dear Leatherwood family,
I was one of Mrs.Leatherwood's students in 3rd grade. That year was one of the hardest years of my life. My mother was  diagnosed with cancer, and she helped me physically and spiritually. Everyday we would pray in class for my mom, and the children would send cards to my mother. When my mother died on the last day of school, she made sure to tell the class what happened and to keep praying for my family. She attended my mother's funeral, and she gave me a box that had the word mom written on it. In the box was a necklace it had my moms birth date and death on the back it said love, 3D. She was a amazing woman who touched so may people with her life, and her love of God. Thank you, Mrs. Leatherwood for being one the most kind, loving, teacher I have ever had.

We knew Barb from Westerville Bible Church in Ohio. She was a wonderful person. Our deepest sympathy to Steve and the rest of the family.

Mrs. Leatherwood was my daughter's favorite teacher EVER!!  Haley was in her 3rd grade class for the 2010-2011 school year at Bob Jones Academy.  There are no adequate words to describe the wonderful impact she had on my daughter.  Haley and I were just talking about her the day before she want home to be with Jesus.  Although we are heartbroken over her loss, we are thankful to know she is at peace and that we will see her again some day in Heaven.  We are praying for her precious family.  We love you, Mrs. Leatherwood, and we will NEVER forget you!!

We remember Barbara as a beautiful young  lady. Our hearts go out to  Barbara's family.   We lost our 26 year old daughter eleven years ago and the pain continues.  Although we know she is in Heaven, we miss her more each day.  

Losing a child (no matter what age) is one of the most difficult things a parent endures.  Our prayers are with you all.  

We know that the angels are rejoicing with Barbara in Heaven!  God bless you.

Our loss is heaven's gain, and oh my, what a loss she is.  She and Steve embodied the true spirit of Christ.  I pray for comfort and strength as those she touched shine on in the lives of others.
