Born September 23, 1927, in Snyder Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Allie and Schmick Perkins.
Bob was a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. After his graduation he was drafted into the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge Bob married his wife of 67 years, Carra.
He found deep meaning in faith and fellowship, always attending church wherever he lived. Bob served as a former elder at Northeast Church of Christ, and over time his concern for others widened into an interest in missions. His mission work included places like Honduras, Ukraine, and Croatia.
Bob loved to travel, and he and Carra took full advantage of opportunities while living in Saudi Arabia for his work. While there the two visited the locations of the Seven Churches of Asia mentioned in the Bible.
In Bob's early adult years, he enjoyed bowling in leagues, playing pool with his brother Ray, and spending some time on the golf course.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carra, and three grandsons Jake Bowman, Robert Bowman, and Richard Bowman.
He is survived by his daughters Donna Stone, Linda Perkins Lewis, and Sheryl Wilburn; grandchildren Shannon Pierce and Trey Myers; as well as four great-grandchildren, Evan Pierce, Aiden Pierce, Maddie Myers, and Zachary Myers.
A Committal Service will be held at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Dr, Anderson, SC 29621, US, on April 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
