Bobby Joe Norris

Bobby J. Norris, 76, husband of Virginia George Norris, passed November 13, 2012 at his residence. A native of Pelham, son of the late B. Eugene and Lucille Kirby Norris, he was a retired contractor, loving father and grand "Papa", and a devoted husband of 57 years. Bob served as Fire Chief of the Pelham-Batesville Volunteer Fire Department, was an avid golfer and member of the Lake View Sr. Golf Club, as well as a former seasoned race car driver. Surviving are his wife of the home, three children, Danny Norris (Kennie), Tina Livingston (Dean), Joel Norris (Rachel), daughter-in-law, Lisa H. Norris, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his brother Norman Norris, and two sisters: Armetrus Gilstrap and Margaret Tinsley. Mr. Norris was predeceased by his son Ricky, four brothers: Bruce, Thomas, Floyd, and Albert, as well as two sisters, Louise Carpenter and Betty Norris. A memorial service will be held at Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 3:00pm. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends at the same location commencing at 2:00pm. The family wishes to express their appreciation and greatfulness to Amedysis Hospice, especially to Jenna Rice, Laurie McAlister, Daisy Judd, and Pastor Roy Williams.
