Caroline King Ryer, age 94, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2021. Caroline was born in Bryson City, NC to the late Warren N. King and Lucy Hancock King on August 2, 1927. A lifelong resident of Greenville, SC, she was married to the late Richard N. Ryer. She worked for Toledo Scales for over 30 years. She was an active member of the Second Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two daughters: Barbara R. Barber (Kevin) and Anita R. Swiger (Barry); son, Richard N. Ryer II (Dorothy); four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by brother, Harrison King.
A graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Second Presbyterian Church Widows Fund, Open Arms Hospice or charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements are being handled by the Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive.
