Cesar Humberto Peña Franco

Cesar Humberto Peña Franco was born on August 8, 1985, in Lima, Peru. He was the beloved son of Humberto Peña Aguayo and Ana Maria Franco Olaechea. Cesar grew up in Piura, Peru, surrounded by the Francos, a loving family who provided the foundation for his character and helped him navigate the loss of his mother at a young age. Piura remained in Cesar’s heart long after he left Peru. His pride for his country’s culture and cuisine ran deep.

Cesar immigrated to New York at the age of sixteen and was welcomed with love by the Peñas. He attended Newcomers High School in Queens, where he excelled in soccer. Soccer was one of Cesar’s greatest passions, and some of his favorite memories were made on the fields of Flushing Meadows Park. Cesar discovered yet another strength when he began working at The Shield Institute in Flushing, NY, in his love for educating and advocating for students with disabilities. It was here that he met Laure, the love of his life and his other half. They built a life together and had three beautiful children, his greatest source of pride and joy.

Following Laure and Cesar’s move to South Carolina in 2017, they planted new roots together, expanded their circle of friends, and continued to grow their family. For the last five years, Cesar thoroughly enjoyed his job working for Greenville Water.

Cesar was tragically taken from us on August 21, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife, Laure, and children Leo, Roman, and Isla, his father Humberto and step-mother Lisa, and was preceded in death by his mother Ana Maria. He was the cherished brother to Ana Mercedes, Francisco, Maria Elena, Eleanor, and Marcello. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws who adored him.

Cesar was the pillar of his family and a constant source of love and support. He was a devoted husband, adoring father, and a kind and beautiful soul. Cesar brought joy and light to every room he entered. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.

Those who knew him will remember him for his infectious smile, his beautiful heart, and his unwavering devotion to his wife and children. Cesar was an exemplary father to Leo, Roman, and Isla, who were the center of his universe. He also cherished his role as dog dad to Luca and Alfie.

Cesar had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in knowing that his love, strength, and unwavering dedication will live on in the memories of all who knew him. Forever in our hearts, always by our side, Cesar will be missed immensely but never forgotten.

The Visitation for Cesar will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations, Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 901 River Road, Greer, SC 29651.

César Humberto Peña Franco nació el 8 de agosto de 1985, en Lima, Perú. Fue el hijo amado de Humberto Peña Aguayo y Ana Maria Franco Olaechea. César creció en Piura, Perú, rodeado por los Francos, una familia amorosa que proporcionó la base de su carácter y lo ayudó a navegar por la pérdida de su madre a una edad temprana. Piura permaneció en el corazón de César mucho después de que salió del Perú. Su orgullo por la cultura y la cocina de su país era profundo.

Después se mudaron a South Carolina en el 2017, plantaron nuevas raíces juntos, expandieron su círculo de amigos y continuaron creciendo su familia. Durante los últimos cinco años, Cesar disfrutó mucho de su trabajo trabajando para Greenville Water.

César Humberto falleció el 21 de agosto de 2025. Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Laure, y sus hijos Leo, Román e Isla, su papá Humberto Peña y su esposa Lisa Peña Humes. Fue el querido hermano de Ana Mercedes, Francisco, María Elena, Eleanor y Marcello. También deja atrás a tías, tíos, primos, sobrinos y suegros que lo adoraban. Ahora se encuentra al lado de su mamá, Ana María y abuelita.

César Humberto era el pilar de su familia y una fuente constante de amor y apoyo. Era un esposo devoto, un padre adorador, y un alma buena y hermosa. César Humberto trajo alegría y luz a cada lugar en la que entraba. Su partido ha dejado un vacío en los corazones de su familia, amigos y muchos más cuyas vidas fueron tocadas por él.

Aquellos que lo conocieron lo recordarán por su sonrisa contagiosa, su hermoso corazón y su inquebrantable devoción a su esposa e hijos. César fue un padre ejemplar de Leo, Román e Isla, que fueron el centro de su universo. También apreció su papel como papá para sus perritos Luca y Alfie.

César tenía un don especial para hacer sonreír y reír a otros, dejando un impacto duradero en todos los que se cruzaron en su camino. Aunque nuestros corazones están llenos de dolor, nos consuela saber que su amor, fuerza y dedicación inquebrantable perdurarán en los recuerdos de todos los que lo conocieron. Para siempre en nuestros corazones, siempre a nuestro lado, César será extrañado inmensamente, pero nunca olvidado.
