

Born on October 2, 1960, in Knoxville, TN, he was known for his big smile, infectious laugh, and generous spirit.
Darryl graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, a nod to his lifelong support of UT Vols football. He channeled his passion for transportation into a fulfilling career in transportation and logistics, following in the footsteps of his father.
Darryl was a devoted family man and an avid golfer who cherished time spent with friends and loved ones. His hobbies included not only cheering for the UT Vols and playing golf but also helping others whenever he could, which made him a cherished member of his community.
Darryl is survived by his wife, Kim Payne; Bonus Daughter, Lisa Rouby (Michael); grandchildren, Life and Willow Rouby, all of Greenville, SC; and sister, Marcia Southern (Mike) of Knoxville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenzel B., and Shirley M. Payne.
A celebration of Darryl's life will be held on Saturday, September 14, at City Range Steakhouse, 615 Haywood Road, Greenville, SC, from 4:30pm - 6:30pm.
