

David was born in Altoona, PA. Served his country as a Navy Corpsman during the Vietnam War and as a Naval Reservist. David served aboard the USS Forrestal, exemplifying courage, compassion, and dedication. Following his military service, he continued his lifelong commitment to caring for others as a Nurse Anesthetist for over 45 years, touching countless lives with skill, compassion, and professionalism.
Beyond his professional achievements, David was a man of deep love and joy. He cherished time spent fishing, finding peace and happiness on the water. Above all, he cherished time with his family, attending numerous activities with his children and grandchildren creating lasting memories. Always present to cheer them on and share in their accomplishments.
A loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. David leaves behind a legacy of integrity, warmth, and devotion. He will be remembered for his unwavering support, his gentle humor, and the countless moments of love and kindness he gave to those around him.
He was the beloved husband of Carol Susan Buckreis (nee Eger), an influential and caring brother of nine siblings. A loving father to Michele Buckreis and Deborah Buckreis. A proud grandfather to David Meier and Kaleigh Meier.
David is also survived by his siblings; Fred Buckreis, Frank Buckreis, Carol Buckreis, Barbara Horton, Dennis Buckreis, Karen Masucci, Gerard Buckreis, and Patricia Yingling, along with their families.
Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Edna Buckreis, and his brother Ronald Buckreis.
The family may hold a memorial service at a later date.
