Dixie was born in Albemarle, NC on April 21, 1936 to the late Bernard A. Schadt and Marie Lipe, and was well loved by family and friends. She was in town visiting her son, Steve, and his family, and was able to attend Easter service and celebrate her birthday. After a joyful homecoming, she is delighting in her new body and meeting her Lord and Savior face to face.
Dixie was the wife of the late Carl Thomas Purdee, and is survived by her four children: Steven Wendell Purdee (Ann), Elizabeth Purdee Watson (Bob), Eric Scott Purdee (Pam) and Kelly Purdee Blanchard (Don); nine grandchildren: Michaelle, Jessica, Charlie, Emily, Mary, Brandon, Megan, Samantha and Logan; and six great- grandchildren: Tyler, Avriel, Kyra, Lilith, Lucien, and Finnley.
A graveside service for Dixie will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Rd, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
