Doris Patla Cohn, 92, of West Palm Beach Florida, died Sunday November 8.
Born in Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Rose Lewis Patla.
Doris was raised in Asheville and following her marriage to the late Walter (Big Daddy) Cohn she moved to New York City where she spent most of her life.
She later retired to West Palm Beach, Florida where she died. She was vibrant, full of charm, interested in everything and loved her life, her family and her friends. She was an accomplished bridge player and a gracious hostess. Her ready smile and her good humor will always be remembered.
Surviving are two loving daughters, Sally Gold of Greenville and Nancy Cohn of London England, her beloved son-in-law, Dr. Steven Gold of Greenville, two grandchildren, Jonathan Gold (Julia) of San Francisco and Eric Gold of Charleston, a great grandson, Zev Isaac Gold of San Francisco and a brother-in-law Karl Straus of Asheville.
Also surviving are her niece and nephews, Lisa, Hank, and Joel who will miss their beloved AD.
She was predeceased by her sister, Sylvia Patla Straus.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 15 at 12:30 p.m. at Temple of Israel, 400 Spring Forest Road, Greenville.
Memorial may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
