Emidio "Mim" Sarmento

Emidio was preceded in death by his wife Pat Sarmento; son William "Bill" Sarmento; father Emidio Albert Sarmento and mother Ida DeAscenzo Sarmento.

Emidio is survived by; son Gary Sarmento; daughter-in-law Lynn Sarmento; son Ray Sarmento; daughter-in-law Beth Sarmento all of Greenville SC; and daughter-in-law Melody (wife of Bill) of Hickory Tavern SC; grandchild Collins Sarmento (Stephanie), grandchild Sarah Grace Sarmento all of Charlotte NC, grandchild Christina Ayers (Kevin) of Fountain Inn SC, grandchild Will Rishovd (Abby) of Anderson SC, great grandchild Raylan Ayers and great grandchild Barrett Ayers of Fountain Inn SC, great grandchild James Rishovd and great grandchild Madeline Rishovd of Anderson SC and the newest addition to the Sarmento family, his great grandson Henry Brian Sarmento( son of Collins and Stephanie Sarmento of Charlotte NC). Mim was blessed to meet Henry on March 20, 2018

Emidio was an avid sports fan, Mim especially loved Notre Dame football and basketball. He was always present at Wade Hampton High School sports events when his grandchildren were in school there and was dubbed “Pops” by many athletes and fans at the school.

Mim had an enthusiasm for life and family as evidenced by the fact that he was happiest when his family gathered together. He loved nothing more than a celebration of family and good Italian food.

A visitation for Emidio will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. A funeral service will occur Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM in The Chapel at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home of Ray and Beth Sarmento following the funeral.
