Born in Pulaski, Virginia, he was the son of the late Everett E. Rider, Sr. and Lucille Kincer Rider. During his life he worked in sales for the automotive equipment industry.
He is survived by his wife: Norma Rider of Mauldin; a son and daughter-in-law:
John “Linc” and Jennifer Rider of Florida; two granddaughters: Kayleigh and Marina
Rider. He is also survived by his three beloved cats, Abby, Sydney and Blu.
The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to Dr. Daniel Tran and the 5th floor staff of St. Francis Hospital, downtown. Additional gratitude is extended to Jennifer and Sister Dorothy of the Palliative care team.
Funeral service will be Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
