Frances J. Beddingfield

Born in Wake County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Iowa Gupton Jones and Lois Perry Bloxom. Mrs. Beddingfield was a homemaker and the former co-owner and manager of ABC Fire Extinguishers and Piedmont Safety Appliances. She was a member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church for over 60 years. Mrs. Beddingfield was the Senior SC Olympic Champion in putt-putt many times and represented SC in the finals in Las Vegas, and was inducted into the SC Bowling Hall of Fame.

Mrs. Beddingfield was a member of the Wade Hampton Women’s Club for 15 years, the United Commercial Travelers Association for over 50 years, the SC Women’s Bowling Association for 44 years, and the Greenville Women’s Bowling Association for 33 years. She was the Happy Hearts HHBC Program Director and Hostess for ten years and was a VIP member of Disabled Veterans. Mrs. Beddingfield was also a member of the HHBC Sonshiners, the Silver Sneakers Club, and the Botany Woods Garden Club. She loved her God, her family, bowling, sports, nature, and shoes.

Mrs. Beddingfield is survived by a son, Wilbur Ellis Beddingfield, Jr. and wife Jonnie; a daughter, Deborah Beddingfield Mann; two brothers, Wallace Jones and Douglas Jones; five grandchildren, Will Beddingfield and wife Joanna, Jarrod Beddingfield and wife Amy, Joshua Beddingfield, Leigh Anne Hutchison and husband Edwin, and Lindsey Carron Mann; and nine great-grandchildren, Ian Beddingfield, Brady Beddingfield, Claire Beddingfield, Lauren Beddingfield, Katie Beddingfield, Abby Beddingfield, Kathleen Christopher and husband Kevin, Emmalie Hutchison, and Lucas Hutchison. She was predeceased by a sister, Aslee Bowles Odom; and a granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Beddingfield.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to following Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 PM – 2:45 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home prior to the service.
