Francis Vernon Brothers Sr.

Francis (Doodle) Vernon Brothers Sr. Born March 24,1934 in Greenville SC.Went to be with his Lord and Savior early morning of Jan.11, 2017.He was the son of Nan and William W Brothers and he was of Baptist Faith. He was a graduate of Greenville High where he set many records in Basketball and other sports.

He attended North Greenville college and Clemson University when it was a Military college where he excelled in basketball and won many awards.

After his Military service in the Army and National Guard He returned to his passion of basketball and played in the Textile League. He was retired from Flour Daniel where he worked for more than 30 years in construction as a Millwright. He is survived by his wife Ann King Brothers of 60 years and four children. Jan Finley, William R Brothers "Billy" (Debbie), Polly Johnson (David), Barry F Brothers 12 grandchildren and 9 Greatgrands, many Nieces and Nephews along with many "Tiger Friends" he loved very much. Siblings Jack Brothers (Jean), Virginia Neely (Jerry) and Charlie Brothers (June) He is predeceased by his parents, his oldest son Francis V Brothers Jr. Brothers: Otis, Ted, Chuck, Alton and Willard Brothers, sisters Thelma Ross, Juna Bee Hughes.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Mon Jan.16, 2017 at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
