She was born in Waddington, NY on November 23, 1928. Gertrude graduated from Madrid High School in Madrid, NY. She went on to obtain an associate’s dietitian degree from Canton ATC in Canton, NY. She was a faithful member of Hampton Park Baptist Church.
She was married to the late William Patrick Marrah Sr. for 61 years.
She was predeceased by her parents, John Pennyfeather and Florence Sherman Pennyfeather and siblings, Kathleen Robinson, Irene Pennyfeather, Allen Pennyfeather, William Pennyfeather , Margaret Pennyfeather, Morgan Pennyfeather, Ruth Weltman and Rita Pennyfeather. Surviving her is a son, William Patrick Marrah, Jr. and his wife Sherry; a daughter, Linda Marrah Wooten and her husband Tommy. Her grandchildren, Megan Marrah Steele and her husband Brandon and Rachel Marrah. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
A graveside service was held at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to www.harvesthope.org (local food bank) or www.switch.org (human trafficking organization)
