Harvey Reimers

Harvey Oliver Reimers was born in Ludlow, Massachusetts, on February 28, 1930, to Christine and Harry Otto Reimers. During his elementary years he attended a Bible-believing church with neighborhood friends and around 12 years old accepted Jesus as his Savior.

After graduating from Springfield Technical High School in 1947, Harvey enlisted in the Coast Guard and was stationed at New London, Connecticut. He was based in Hawaii during the Korean War and served in a LORAN station, supplying ships during the war. When he returned to the States, he met Marilyn at their local church. He was discharged from the Coast Guard in 1951, and one week later they were married. Harvey thought his dream job would have been to be a watchmaker at a jewelry store. Instead, the Lord directed him into business machine repair, where he excelled in performing precise, detailed work for various businesses around New England. Later he moved into business machine sales, traveling throughout New England and upper New York State, and eventually distinguished himself as the top salesman in his company.

Although New England was always home to Harvey, he and Marilyn decided to move to South Carolina in their retirement years. Throughout his life, Harvey was always a faithful, active member of a local, Bible-believing church, in his later years serving at Cornerstone Baptist Church in his own generous, kind, and helpful way.

Harvey and Marilyn were blessed with four sons and daughters-in-law: Carl & Kathy, Gary & Jan, Jerry & Laura, and Steve & Lisa; 10 grandchildren (listed in order of age): Joel, Christina (Ethan Johnston), Sarah (Ryan Hudson), Rebekah (Josh Ortiz), Jason (Olivia), Rachel (Kyle Price), Meghan, Nathan (Alissa), Amanda (Matt Koser), and Martin; and 12 great-grandchildren: Halle, Tanner, Avery, Hank, Asher, Taylor, Cadence, Quinn, Pippa, Kody, Leif, and Tessa.

Harvey continually thanked God that his entire family knows and serves the Lord.

A visitation for Harvey will be held Friday, March 25, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 8508 Pelham Rd, Greenville, SC 29615. Harvey's funeral service will be held Friday, March 25, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 8508 Pelham Rd, Greenville, SC 29615.
