
Jack L. Morton, 86, of Greenville SC, died August 26, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth “Lib”, children Greg (Anita) Morton, Lynne (Jeff) Brown and David (Angela) Morton; and grandchildren, Laura (Andrew) Moore, 2nd LT Mitchell (Katie) Morton, USMC, Caroline Morton, Zachary Brown and Danielle Brown.
He was a graduate of The University of South Carolina with a BS Degree in Accounting. He was also a Veteran, having served in the United States Navy on a Diesel Submarine during the Korean War. He worked in the Computer/Data Processing/Software industry for 46 years. He served in Leadership roles at several churches and most recently held the position of Elder Emeritus at Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church. He invested significant time and effort enriching the Spiritual and personal lives of not only his family members, but countless people he shepherded and counseled over the years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but we celebrate his ascension to Heaven.
Visitation: Sunday, August 28, 2016, 1:30 – 3:30pm at Woodruff Road. Presbyterian Church.
Burial Service: Monday, August 29, 2016, 11:00am at Graceland East Memorial Park; followed by a Memorial Service at 1:30pm at Woodruff Road. Presbyterian Church. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Joe Wallace, Raleigh Toms, the Active Elders of Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church, Elders Emeritus Bill Mayfield, Boyd Green, and Bill Teague.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Piedmont Women’s Center or Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church Debt Retirement Fund.
