James Fred Jones

James was married to the love of his life, Betty Jones, for over 67 years. Together, they had six children, and family was his pride and joy. In his spare time, James loved to deer hunt, fish, and play fast-pitched softball, a passion he shared with his children. He spent three years as a deacon at Edgewood Baptist Church in Greenville and was a watchcare member of Unity Baptist Church in Greenville.

James is survived by his loving wife, Betty; his children, Dennis Jones (Janie), Danny Jones, Rhonda Fharr (Bo), Patty Berry (Mike), Robin Frederick (Jim), and Joey Jones; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Jeanette Van Gordon and Richard Jones.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by four siblings, Charles Jones, Linda Gail Jones, Elizabeth Jones, and Harold Jones.

A funeral service will be held at Unity Baptist Church in Greenville on Sunday, April 23rd at 3:00pm. A visitation will be held one hour prior from 2:00-2:45pm, and burial will occur after the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Unity Baptist Church in Greenville.
