On December 14, 2011 James took his final breathe surrounded by his family. Born on September 23, 1934 in Joe, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Furman Shelton and Annie Mae Messer Shelton. He was a Heat & A/C technician and the owner of R&D Enterprises since 1973. He was a past commander of the VFW several times and president of the Greenville Sportsman Club. He was also the past president of the Moose Lodge # 749. He loved patriotism and the good work that the Moose Lodge did for the world. He is survived by his wife: Jackie; daughters: Prentiss Ann and Tracy Willis; a son: James R. Shelton, Jr.; grandchildren: Shandi Gurrslin, Jessica Riley, Brandon Shelton, Miranda Willis, Kayleigh Shelton, Bryson Shelton; and a great-grandchild: Jaylin Riley. Funeral service will be Monday, December 19, 2011 at 3:00 pm in Remembrance Mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
