Mrs. Jean Harris Showalter Brooks of Greenville, SC, died Saturday, November 16, 2013, at the age of 87 following an extended illness. Mrs. Brooks was predeceased by her husband, Roger R. Brooks, and grandson, Garrett Brooks.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by two children, Suzanne Barton of Greer, SC, and Bryant Brooks of Roanoke Rapids, NC; one son-in-law, Sam Barton; one daughter-in-law, Valerie Brooks; and eight grandchildren-- Heather Thompson, Allen Barton, Sarah Barton, David Barton, Bethany Barton, William Barton, Ellen Barton, and Ashley Brooks. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held in the chapel of Taylors First Baptist Church, Taylors, SC, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21st. Visitation will be from 10-11 prior to the service.
The family of Mrs. Brooks wishes to have donations given to Alzheim¬er’s Association 4124 Clemson Blvd, Ander¬son, SC 29621 in lieu of flowers.
