Jeanette has been my sister-in-law for 70 years. When my brother brought his new bride south to meet his family, she became like an angel for a little girl who suffered the loneliness of all her siblings having grown up. She was an instant celebrity, with her red hair, the first red hair I'd ever seen, and her sense of humor lit up our life.  I honored her the only way I  knew how, by naming my turtle "Jeanette". Every week, until they moved south and had their own little girl, Patti (named after me), she wrote to me, all the way from Philadelphia! What magic!  Every letter contained a stick of gum or a nickel taped in it. Many years later, after I had my own children, she was as kind and loving to them, as she had always been to me. We all loved her, just for herself, and also for her absolute devotion and love and care of her husband, my oldest brother. He suffered for years with Parkinson's, and she was his caregiver....and his dance partner. They met on the dance floor at the USO, and they danced until he no longer could, after which he loved watching her dance with the husbands of their friends. Jeanette was a strong and honorable woman who fiercely loved her family. I am so thankful she was in our lives.

I loved Jeanette!  She was a delight to see and talk to at anytime!
Have fond memories of her as a Neighbor!
