Jeannette Richardson

Jeannette, affectionately known as “Bubba” to many, lived a life of service. She went to night school to obtain her diploma while raising four children as a single mother. Starting out at Maxon shirt factory as a teen, she eventually moved on to working at Kemet for several years before taking an early retirement to care for her late daughter, Tijuana Richardson. After the passing of her daughter, she cared for her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her ailing mother. After her mother’s departure, she became a sitter where she extended her compassion and the love of God to her clients and their families. In August of 2020, when Covid emerged, her health started declining. Even when not feeling her best, she still wore a smile on her face, never complained and carried on, and never lost her faith. She was an avid reader and loved church. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for her family and enjoyed having company. There wasn’t a day that went by that you wouldn’t find her watching “The Price Is Right,” and she could tell you anything about Victor Newman from her favorite “soap,” The Young and the Restless. Her caring heart and love for anyone that entered her home or crossed paths with her left a lasting impression.

She peacefully departed this life in her hometown, Greenville, South Carolina, at Prisma Hospital early Wednesday morning, February 19, 2025.

She is survived by her sons, Danny Richardson, Billy K. Richardson and Ricky Richardson, all of the home.

She left beautiful memories with her five grandchildren, Erica (Rickey) Robertson, Jun-Paul Richardson, Ashley Richardson, JeMarion Beal and Ricki Richardson. Her “Great Grands,” Erieal Robertson, Jalon Robertson, Thailyn Richardson and Asheton Thompson, will always cherish her loving words and affectionate hugs and kisses. Great memories and stories will be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, and loving friends, especially Kim Jones Preshia and Fredia Goolsby.

A visitation for Jeannette will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Long Branch Baptist Church, 28 Bolt St, Greenville, SC 29605. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 28, 2025 at 1:00 PM, 28 Bolt St, Greenville, SC 29605. A committal service will occur Friday, February 28, 2025 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 1699 Piedmont Hwy, Piedmont, SC 29673.
