Jimmy Lee Stephens, Jim, age 82 of Taylor's, South Carolina passed peacefully at St. Francis Hospital on the evening of September 28, 2014.
He was born in Walnut Cove, North Carolina on August 20, 1932.
Jim was the son of Murphy Tuttle Stephens and James Ruffin Stephens, both deceased.
Surviving are his sister Gilda Mendenhall and beloved, Debbie Stephens; his children, daughter, Janet Stephens; son, Kent Stephens and his wife, Pam, and their children, Brandon and Michaela; son, Kevin Stephens and his wife, Stephanie, and their children, Olivia and Norah all of Greenville, SC.
Jim was a graduate of Emmanuel College, a pastor/inspirations speaker and a retired master home builder. A friend of many, Jim was known for his animated story telling and love of cars. His treasured bible verse was Psalm 1.
A memorial service celebrating Jim's life will be held Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 3:45 pm prior to the service.
