Les Jones contacted me a few years ago and told me about Joel's illness. I reconnected with him and we traded some old stories. He lived through some rough times, I added to them. I've been watching the renovations on his house, I usually go past there on the way home when I am in Greenville, I hoped it indicated that he was doing better. Then I heard from John Foster that he had passed. We had dreams of being comic strip magnates, he had a great talent for writing. Here's our first comic from the Clemson Tiger around 1977 or so...
