Jack lived life with great exuberance. He applied exceptional concentration to the people and things he loved, whether as the top scorer on his roller-hockey team, as Chipper Jones’ biggest fan, or as Derek Jeter’s greatest critic (much to his uncle’s chagrin). One of our fondest memories of Jack that speaks to his remarkable single-mindedness is his statement that his favorite dinosaur was the Pachycephalosaurus. He made this declaration, with the correct pronunciation no less, at the age of four! Ever the thinker, his well-timed observations and insights of human behavior (usually at the expense of his siblings and cousins) would bring the house down, often when we least expected it.
What Jack did best was what he did for his family. Jack loved us fiercely, and Jack knew that we loved him just as fiercely. In the end, that is all that matters to us. That is all. We take great comfort in this. And we are assured by the knowledge that Jack has found his eternal rest in the hand of God, where no torment can touch him (Wisdom of Solomon 3:1).
We wish Godspeed, though not goodbye, to John Douglas Churdar (Sept. 22, 1990 — Apr. 6, 2022), our beloved and gentle and beautiful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. We will see Jack again in the place prepared for us, with the sure and certain hope of his resurrection to eternal life through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A celebration of Jack’s life will take place at Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church on Palm Sunday, April 10, at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Miracle Hill Ministries.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.mackeycenturydrive.com for the Churdar family.
