Only learned today, January 24, 2022,  of this terrible loss of such a young man. Life is complicated and answers are never immediately known. God has a plan.

While I wasn’t a close friend, Jordan was a fixture in my childhood as we grew up together at MUMC. Thinking over that time, three things constantly stood out: his smile, a mischievous twinkle in his eye, and his chuckle. I don’t think a Sunday passed that he didn’t make everyone laugh. Like a good belly laugh. The world needs his levity and love for life - things that we’ll carry on in his stead. 

I am so grateful to have known Jordan and his parents. He made a big impression on me and I will miss him dearly. I spent Wednesday morning hiking with him at Paris Mountain, laughing and enjoying the great fall weather. We hadn't hiked together in a couple of months and I'm so thankful that I have that memory to cherish. He was a sweet, funny, big hearted young man that I am truly so lucky to have known.  My love to his family.

We were so blessed to have The Hamills as such wonderful neighbors in Brookfield and thrilled that Jordan was the same age as our Tomás. From an early age,  Jordan became a special part of our family. His adorable smile shows up in so many family photos. Birthdays, Communions, engagements, Christmases and New Year's with the Smiths...Jordan was always there to help us celebrate life! Dear Ken, Pat, Kaylie and Mackenzie, thank you for sharing your son and brother with us for all these years. We hope to bring  you all continued comfort, love and strength as we celebrate Jordan's life. May he rest in heavenly peace.

Don’t want to make this a downer post but this whole group is gonna miss you bro. I guess I will finally get some cool air now at the first football game because you won’t be hogging the fan.  I will finally get some heat at the colder games because there will be an empty spot by the heater. I will finally be able to watch a game at your tailgate because your big ole head won’t be in the way anymore.  BUT, I’d rather be hot / cold and not be able to see the game
