Joyce Rushton Curry

Throughout her life, she placed great emphasis on family, faith, and education. She was a lifelong educator and volunteer church worker. She especially loved working with young children.

Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM and the funeral service will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Earle Street Baptist Church in Greenville, S.C. Following the service there will be a graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery.

She was born in Greenville, S.C. to Joyce B. and J. Carlisle Rushton. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest D. Curry. Joyce had two brothers, James C. (deceased) and H. Guilford (Gil) (Betty) Rushton.

She is survived by three children, E. Drake (Ada), Stephen C. (Dianne) and Susan J. (Bob) Sutton. Also, she is survived by seven grandchildren, Brooke (John) Halsey, Drake (Sarah) Curry III, Morgan (Mike) Arndt, Matthew Sutton, Lauren Sutton, Brandon Spell, and Dana Gannon. In addition, she is survived by six great grandchildren, Isaac Curry, Keegan and Collin Gaddy, Matthew and Sara Gannon, and Payton Spell.

Pallbearers for her funeral will be Drake Curry III, Matthew Sutton, Bob Sutton, Mike Arndt, John Halsey, and Taylor Barnette.

The family would like to thank all of her caregivers and friends for their kindness and compassion during her short period of illness.

Memorials may be made to Earle Street Baptist Church, Greenville Meals On Wheels or a charity of your choice.
