

A lifelong resident of Greenville, Judith graduated from Greenville High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Greenville General School of Nursing. She devoted 32 years of her career to the Greenville Hospital System, where her compassion, skill, and steady presence touched countless lives.
For more than 40 years, Judith was a faithful member of Taylors First Baptist Church. She was deeply involved in her Sunday School class and served with dedication on the Global Missions Committee, reflecting her heart for service and her love for her church community.
Judith was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Blanton and Norman Jochimsen, and by her sisters, Ann Simister and Merideth Smith.
She is survived by her children, each of whom carries forward her strength, compassion, and devotion to family: Mary Ann Blanton DiPaula (Glenn), David Blanton (Gwen), Scott Jochimsen (Linda), Kip Jochimsen, and Tod Jochimsen (Tammy).
Judith’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy: Sarah McArver (Graham), Rachel Sadie (Jake), Kaylen Ferry (Dylan), Andrew Jochimsen (Ashley), Aaron Jochimsen (Kayla), Chelsea Jochimsen (Connor), and Jackson Blanton (Maddie). She was also blessed with five great grandchildren, whose presence delighted her in her later years, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. And we cannot forget Benny, her devoted companion who brought her comfort and joy.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Connie Lollar for the time, care, and support she offered Judith during the past year. Thank you, Connie.
A visitation to honor Judith’s life will be held on April 29, 2026, at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow on April 30, 2026, at Taylors First Baptist Church, 200 W Main Street, Taylors, SC, at 11:30 a.m., with a graveside service at Woodlawn Memorial Park immediately afterward.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Taylors First Baptist Church or the Taylors Free Medical Clinic.
Judith will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her compassion, and the steadfast love she poured into her family, her friends, her neighbors, her patients, and her community.
