Kanning James Kozinski

Kanning was born at 10:20 a.m. on June 26, 2025, at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. Though her time with us was heartbreakingly brief, she filled our hearts with immeasurable joy, love, and light. We cherish the moments we held her, sang to her, and felt her gentle presence, which will forever be etched in our souls. She was a true fighter, and her strength in those precious hours will inspire us for a lifetime.

She is lovingly remembered by her parents, Andrew and Taylor Kozinski; her grandparents, Ann Osbo-Minor and Mike Minor, and James and Tami Hersey; and her aunts, Kristen Minor, Kara Yelverton (Kyle), and Tiffany Fox (Bryan). She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Robert Kozinski. She will be forever our daughter, forever loved, forever missed.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn (1 Pine Knoll Dr, Greenville, SC 29609). A funeral service to celebrate her beautiful life will follow at 1:30 PM. A private burial for the immediate family will be held at Good Shepherd Memorial Park, where she will be laid to rest beneath the sunsets her parents will forever share with her.

The family is deeply grateful for the incredible compassion shown by the dedicated doctors and nurses who cared for Kanning, and for the unending love and support from their family and friends. Her parents will carry her courage and her light forward—one sunset at a time.
