Karen Jo was a loving, caring and compassionate Mother, Daughter and Sister. So full of life, she could bring joy to any room. Her selflessness made her loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her laugh was contagious to all those around her. On someone’s worst day, one conversation with Karen Jo would always leave you feeling hopeful and better for the next day.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Lauren Nelson; her brother, Andrew Karpowicz; her significant other, Richard Silver; her son-in-law, Kareem Thompson; Father of her child, Wesley Nelson; Grandkitty, Shadow Nelson and dear loving friends Carol Karpowicz and Dominick Napolitano. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Kenny K and Jackie.
A graveside service for Karen will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2410 Gentry Memorial Hwy, Pickens, SC 29671.
