

Hospital. He was born July 23, 1943, in Knoxville, TN the son of Melvin "Bill" and Vona (Miller) Johnson. He
retired from the U.S. Army after serving 20 years. He was awarded the Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross,
Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, and 17 Air Medals with Valor. His second career was in the defense
industry. He had two marriages, Alta (Fielder) Johnson and Patricia (Church) Johnson. Survivors include Dale
Fowler, friend, two daughters, Sara "Susie" (David) Spinks, Topeka, KS and Kristi (Kevin) Kuhns, Tecumseh,
NE; two sons, David (Shari) Johnson, Phoenix, AZ, and David Johnson, Nashville, TN, 14 grandchildren, eight
great-grandchildren; his sister, Darlene Hubbard, Sterling, IL and brother, Tom (Teresa) Johnson and his "Girls"
Allie and Molly, his labs. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and his son, Kenneth W. Johnson,
Jr. Services will be at Woodlawn Funeral Home Tuesday January 24,2017. Visitation will be from I-2:45pm with a Memorial
Service following at 3pm. A celebration of his life will be held at Junior's Sports Bar, 14 Gladys Dr., Greenville
SC immediately following the service. He will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
