Ryan Dill and his wife JoAnn of Haymarket, VA and Kevin’s grandchildren Mitchell and Regan; son, Scott Dill and his fiancée, Deborah Bell of Jersey City, NJ. Born in Gardner, MA, Kevin was the son of Dexter and Jean (Clifford) Dill and spent his childhood living in Phillipston, MA. He attended Narragansett Regional High School in Baldwinville, MA before enrolling in college at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY where he achieved a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management. At RPI, Kevin was part of a very close-knit group of guys called “The Reamers” who remain in touch and still get together on an annual basis.
Upon graduation, Kevin embarked on a very successful career that began at W.R. Grace in Laurel, MD. He then moved back to New England where he also worked for NENSCO in Millbury, MA, International Paper's Veratec division and Fiberweb, both in Walpole, MA. In 2001 Kevin's position at Fiberweb transitioned him and Marlene to Greenville, SC where they have resided ever since. His most recent job was Senior Product Manager at Contec in Spartanburg, SC.
Kevin was always passionate about sports ... as a youth he excelled at track and field, soccer, and basketball. In his adult years, he became an avid volleyball player and his true sports love was golf, both watching and playing. He also had a passion for landscaping and caring for his beautiful yard. Even with the move to South Carolina, he continued to root for his beloved Boston sports teams, particularly the Red Sox and Patriots, and also became an ardent supporter of the Red Sox’s local single-A affiliate, the Greenville Drive.
Over the last several years, Kevin became involved with the Rotary Club of Greenville Evening, serving as club secretary from 2008-2009 and then as club director from 2009-2013. In that role, he assisted with organizing his favorite annual event, the Reedy River Duck Derby that helped to raise nearly half a million dollars for local area charities.
Kevin will be terribly missed by his family, friends, fellow Rotary members, co-workers and anyone who ever has had the good fortune to meet him. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF.org.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 1:00 – 2:45pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. www.woodlawn-fh.com
