Born on October 28, 1955, in Greenville, South Carolina, Lane was the beloved son of the late Woodrow Clark and Bessie Chapman Clark. He was a graduate of Parker High School and went on to earn his associate degree from Greenville Technical College. He dedicated many years of hard work to Michelin before retiring.
A devoted Christian, Lane spent countless evenings reading his Bible and found great joy in sharing the Word of God with others. His faith was the foundation of his life, guiding the way he loved and served those around him.
Lane was happiest outdoors — 4-wheeling, boating, water skiing, working in the yard, fixing cars, and tackling any project that needed attention. A true handyman, he could fix almost anything and was always the first to offer help to a friend or neighbor. His generosity, steady presence, and willingness to lend a hand will be remembered by all who knew him. More than any hobby, he cherished spending time and creating special memories with his children and grandchildren. He also adored his grand-dogs — particularly Darcy — who brought him special joy.
Above all, Lane cherished his family. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Harvey Clark; his children, Brandon McCurley (Courtney), Caitlin Clark Lanford (Justin L.), and Justin Clark (Trevor G.); his treasured grandchildren, Raegan McCurley and Benjamin McCurley; and his sister, Peggy Clark Slaughter (Tony). He also leaves behind extended family, dear friends, and grand-dogs.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Rando Clark and Woodrow Clark, Jr., and one sister, Nancy Clark Reeves.
Lane’s love for his family was evident in every conversation and every act of service. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his strong faith, hardworking spirit, and the love he gave so freely.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Mackey Funeral Home at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29609.
