Born in Oconee County, he was a son of the late William Rufus and Ollie Mae Heaton Quarles. Mr. Quarles was retired from Michelin following over 30 years of service and served in the National Guard for 9 years. He was a member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church and was a Mason and member of Lodge 345.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Quarles is survived by a son, Larry Martin Quarles and wife Vonda; two grandchildren, William Barnett and Brittany Barnett; a sister, Carolyn Quarles; three brothers, Joe Dee Quarles, Harold Quarles, and his twin brother, Horace Quarles; a niece, Becky Harvey; and a nephew, Wesley Nelson. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Quarles.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2:30 PM in the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home prior to the service.
