Lawrence (Larry) Bryson Murdoch, husband of Patricia Smith Murdoch, passed away on September 2, 2024. After 4 years with MDS cancer, he is now with our Lord Jesus Christ. He was a fighter up until the end. Larry was born in Upper Darby, PA to Earle Cochran Murdoch and Alice Mollenhoff Murdoch.
He grew up in Abbeville County, SC, graduating from Abbeville High School in 1959. He then attended Clemson College and Iowa State University obtaining BS and MS degrees in chemical engineering.
He began his 55 year career in chemical plant operations and then transitioned into the design, construction, project management, and consulting for industrial plants in the US and internationally.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Richard Murdoch.
Together with his wife, he is survived by four children, Jeffrey (Sharon) Murdoch, David (Cindy) Murdoch, Brian (Tiffany) Murdoch, and Lindsay (Brad) White; six grandchildren, Jonathan and Marcus Murdoch, Lucas and Josie Murdoch, and Addie and Bryson White; brother Thomas (Patty) Murdoch; and sister in law, Judy Murdoch.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1901 Wade Hampton Blvd. Greenville, SC 29609. Friends are invited to attend.
