Margaret Elliott Bell

Margaret enjoyed a 27-year career as an educator, retiring from the Greenville County School System. Along with her passion for children she enjoyed bird watching and especially loved Bluebirds.

Margaret or “Ma’’ as she was known by her grandchildren was born in Greenville, SC. Raised by her father after her mother died when she was age 7, she went on to attend Furman University. Margaret met and married Gwyn Bell of St. George, SC and enjoyed 58 years of marriage before his passing in 2011. Together they were blessed to have the opportunity to travel the world, living in the Philippines Islands for 3 years.

Surviving are her two daughters and son-in-law, Dianne Watkins of Simpsonville, SC and Pam and Craig Ricketts of Cave Creek, AZ; grandsons, John Watkins of Simpsonville, SC, Craig Ricketts, Jr., and Kirk Ricketts both of Cave Creek, AZ.

Friends are invited to visit with the family Wednesday morning from ten o’clock until the hour of service at the church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, December 27th at eleven o’clock at Holly Ridge Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Graceland West Memorial Park.
