Marilyn Faber Vanvick

Born in Plymouth, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late John Albert and Ethel Carlin Faber. She received a B.A. degree from Wayne State University and did graduate work at the University of Michigan and Appalachian State University. She was a teacher for many years at Lake Forest Elementary School in Greenville. She was active in PEO in Greenville and Furman University’s OLLI Program. Mrs. Vanvick was an active member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church and the Aldersgate Sunday School Class. She served as Church Financial Secretary for many years and was treasurer of the United Methodist Women.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law: Brad and Sharon Vanvick, Scott and Helen Vanvick, and Mark and Teena Vanvick, all of the Greenville area, and grandchildren Caroline, Matthew (Virginia), Will, John, Elle, Evan, Luke, Cole, and Ben. The family would like to extend specials thanks to Diane Bishop and the Sitter’s Registry for their loving care over the last year.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am Friday, January 6, 2017 at St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 10am – 11:30 am.
