
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Morris Jackson and Anita Griffin.
Mrs. Ballenger was employed by Bell South and a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital Downtown.
She was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Ballenger, Sr.
Surviving are two sons, Charles E. (Chuck) Ballenger, Jr. and M. Jackson (Karen) Ballenger both of Greenville, SC., a sister Ann Jackson Grant of Savannah, GA.; five grandchildren, Mary Frances (Banks) Weed of Powdersville, SC, Cooper (Francisco) Santiago of Greenville, SC, Kevin, Cody and
John Ballenger of Sanford, NC.; step grandchildren Christopher Shumate of Greer, SC , Lara (Elliott) Poole of Greenville, SC.; two great-grandchildren Michael and Grayson Ballenger of Sanford, NC and two step great-grandchildren Daven and Larsen Poole of Greenville, SC.; nephews and niece, Barry Grant of Greer, SC , Brad Grant and Christy Dawson of Savannah, GA.
