Mary Diane McCall

Mary Diane McCall, affectionately known as “Punkin,” passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, in Greer, SC. Born August 8, 1952, in Greenville, Diane spent her life rooted in love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family, friends, and community.

Diane proudly worked for Spinx for over 25 years, where she wasn’t just a coworker — she was family. Her infectious laugh, warm smile, and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed her path. She had a gift for making people feel seen, loved, and welcome — whether they were a lifelong friend or someone she just met in line.

She was an avid reader who often had 3 or 4 books going at once, and her love for stories was matched only by her passion for travel. Alongside her dear friends Lyn Lamb and cousin Kaye Norrod. Diane made memories across the map — always chasing joy and good company.

Diane was predeceased by her beloved husband, Rick McCall; her son, Chris Stevens; and her sister, Cindy Davis. She leaves behind a family who adored her: brothers Tony Jones and Mike Jones (both of Greer, SC); nieces Christina Davis (Wellford, SC), Stormy Davis (Greer, SC), and Beth Jones (Greer, SC); nephew Zebbie Jones (Greer, SC); cousin Kaye Norrod of Memphis TN ; and best friend Lyn Lamb of Simpsonville, SC.

She was the glue that held many of us together, a steady presence in uncertain times, and a light that made everything feel just a little bit easier. Her legacy lives on in laughter, in love, and in every book passed hand to hand.
