Maurice N. West

Maurice Nimmons West, 89 of Greenville, SC passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Born in Greenville, Maurice was the daughter of the late Bailey and Jessie Nimmons. Maurice graduated from Greenville High School

Maurice deeply loved Jesus Christ and was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church. She loved traveling and playing golf with Wayne, her best friend and husband of 66 years. Maurice was an amazing Mom, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother. She was a multifaceted artist that enjoyed sharing her art with others. She had a beautiful laugh, a lovely smile, and a natural grace that was unpretentious. Maurice loved people very, very, well.

Maurice is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Washington West, Jr. She is survived by daughters; Sharon K. Boston and her husband Phil; Sandy W. Spitler and her husband Harrison, grandchildren; Hannah Tillman and husband J. T. Lee, Rebekah Rainey and her husband Caleb, Sarah Spitler and her fiancé, Cam Simmons, Nathan Spitler, Jonathan Spitler, Abby Spitler, and Isaac Spitler; great-grandchildren; Evie, Eli, Sophia, and Tommy Rainey, and Andy Lee; sister; Caroline Summey; sisters-in-law, Edna Nimmons and Betty Webb, and nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 pm on October 26, 2024 in the Chapel at Taylors First Baptist Church, 200 W. Main St. Taylors, SC 29687. The family will receive visitors at 11:00 am prior to the service. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Dr, Greenville, SC 29609 following the service.
