She was born in Anderson, SC to parents Arthur and Sadie Smith and raised in Abbeville, SC where she attended Abbeville High School before graduating at Wade Hampton High School.
She worked for the Social Services Office for 29 years until her retirement in 2007. She was a square dancer for over 50 years and danced at Landmark Hall in Taylors, SC. In the most recent years she enjoyed going to movies with her daughter and traveling with the XYZ group from Taylors First Baptist Church. Nancy was a member of Pebble Creek Baptist Church in Taylors.
She is survived by her daughter Vickie Henderson (Mark); granddaughters Tonya Taylor (Steven), Heather Graham (Cliff); and 7 great grandchildren. Also a special sister in law, Linda Smith and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
A Memorial Service for Nancy will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn, 1 Pine Knoll Dr. Greenville, SC 29609.
